Disneyland Paris Questions Answered by a Disney Superfan

I’ll admit it. I’m completely Disney obsessed. I’ve been to Disneyland Paris more times than I can count, and every single visit still gives me that same rush of excitement. There’s something about walking through the gates, hearing the music, and seeing the castle that instantly makes you smile.

Over the years, I’ve been asked just about every question possible about Disneyland Paris. So I thought I’d put everything together in one place. If you’re planning your first trip or thinking about going back, here are the most common questions people ask. And my honest answers are based on experience.

How many parks are there at Disneyland Paris?

There are two. Disneyland Park is the heart of the magic. It’s where you’ll find the pink castle, the parades, and all the classic Disney rides. No matter how many times I go, walking down Main Street still gives me goosebumps.

Then there’s Walt Disney Studios Park, which has a completely different vibe. It’s all about film, action, and Marvel heroes. Avengers Campus is brilliant and feels like you’ve stepped right into the movies.

If it’s your first visit, plan a full day in each park. You’ll want time to explore both properly.

How many days do I need?

Two to three days is ideal. That gives you enough time to see everything without rushing and still enjoy the shows and parades. I’ve done it in a single day before, but it felt like a sprint. You’ll appreciate the parks much more when you can take it slow, grab a coffee, and do your favourite rides twice.

If you can stretch to four days, even better. You’ll have time to enjoy the magic without watching the clock.

Do I need park reservations?

At the moment you don’t. Your dated ticket is enough to enter the parks. However, you should plan ahead for dining. Character meals like breakfast with Mickey book up quickly. If you want one of those experiences, make a reservation as soon as possible. It saves disappointment later.

When is the best time to go?

Spring and early autumn are perfect. The weather is comfortable, the crowds are smaller, and the prices are usually lower than during school holidays. April, May, September, and early October are my favourites.

I once went in March when it was cold but so quiet that I managed to ride Pirates of the Caribbean three times in a row. If you go in the summer or during half term, book early and use Extra Magic Time in the mornings. It makes a big difference.

Can I do Disneyland Paris as a day trip?

Technically yes. You can reach Disneyland Paris in under three hours from London on the Eurostar. But honestly, it’s a very long day. You’ll spend as much time travelling as you do in the park.

I always recommend at least one night’s stay so you can experience the fireworks and take things at your own pace. If you only have one day, stick to Disneyland Park and make a list of your must-do rides before you arrive.

What’s the food like and can I bring my own?

There’s a great mix of food options. From themed quick service restaurants to fine dining, there’s something for everyone. I always make time for Chez Rémy in the Studios Park. The theming is incredible and the food is delicious.

You can bring your own snacks or packed lunch too. It’s handy for families and helps save money. Just avoid glass containers and alcohol.

Are there hotels inside Disneyland Paris?

Yes and they’re a big part of the experience. Staying on site means you’re close to everything and you get early entry into the parks. There’s nothing quite like walking through the gates before the crowds arrive and heading straight for Big Thunder Mountain before breakfast.

There are several themed hotels. The Disneyland Hotel is pure luxury, while Cheyenne and Santa Fe are more affordable but full of character. If you’re watching your budget, hotels in Val d’Europe are good value and include a free shuttle to the parks.

Do adults enjoy Disneyland Paris without kids?

Absolutely. Disney isn’t just for children. I’ve been with friends and without kids many times and it’s just as magical. You start to notice the details, the music, the design, and even the smell of Main Street bakeries.

There are brilliant restaurants and bars, especially around Disney Village. My favourite evenings are spent having dinner there and then watching the fireworks from near the castle.

How much do tickets cost?

It depends on the season. Prices usually start around £55 per adult for one day and one park when you book in advance. Multi day tickets work out cheaper per day and give you flexibility to hop between parks.

Whatever you do, don’t buy tickets at the gate. They cost more and can sell out on busy days. Booking early through a travel agent also means you can often bundle hotel and transport deals for better value.

What are the must-see attractions?

If it’s your first visit, start with these:

  • Sleeping Beauty Castle – go inside and meet the dragon below.
  • Big Thunder Mountain – even better at night.
  • Pirates of the Caribbean – a Disney classic.
  • It’s a Small World – cheesy but iconic.
  • Avengers Assemble Flight Force – fast and thrilling.
  • Disney Illuminations Night Show – the fireworks are breathtaking.

Even after countless visits, I still get emotional watching the night show. Standing in front of the castle with the lights, music, and fireworks always brings a lump to my throat.

My top insider tips

  • Stay on site if you can. That early entry hour is priceless.
  • Download the Disneyland Paris app. It’s essential for checking wait times and finding your way around.
  • Take a break during the day. Head back to your hotel for a swim or a nap and return refreshed for the evening.
  • Do your shopping last. The shops stay open after the rides close.
  • Pack comfortable shoes and layers. The weather can change quickly, even in summer.

Final thoughts

Disneyland Paris really is a place where memories are made. Whether you’re watching your little one meet Mickey for the first time or reliving your own childhood moments, it never stops feeling special.

For me, the magic is in the details. It’s hearing the music start as the parade rolls by, or catching the sparkle of lights on the castle at night. I’ve been more times than I can count, but it still feels like the first time every time.
